Oscar García-Fraile Pueyo (Barcelona, 1992) is an architect and urban planner, graduated from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Since 2015, he has been the director of García-Fraile Arquitectura SLP, an architecture studio. His professional career has focused on legal and forensic architecture, rehabilitation, renovation, new construction, and conflict resolution within the field of building and construction.
He is currently a member of the Agrupació d’Arquitectes Experts Pericials, Forenses i Mediadors de Catalunya (AAEPFMC) of the Col·legi Oficial d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC).
He holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the UPC, in the Urbanism, Landscape and Territorial Management track, and presented his Master’s Final Project entitled “Transformació urbanística en la Verneda Industrial i desenvolupament d’una nova centralitat urbana”, supervised by Dr. Miquel Coromines of the Departament d’Urbanisme i Ordenació del Territori (DUOT).
He holds a Diploma in Legal and Forensic Architecture (DALF) from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), having completed the two specialisation tracks: Building Defects and Urban and Real Estate Valuation. He further complements his education with the Postgraduate Programme in Structural Calculations for Rehabilitation, and the Postgraduate Programme in Energy Certification, both at the Escola Sert, as well as the Postgraduate Programme in Real Estate Valuation from the Col·legi Oficial d’Arquitectes de Madrid (COAM). He is currently undertaking the Postgraduate Programme in Professional Methods of Conflict Resolution (ADR-MASC) at the Escola Sert.
During his architecture studies, he collaborated with several architecture and engineering firms, such as Valeri Consultors Associats—participating, among other works, in the refurbishment of 30 La Caixa branches and the kitchen of Restaurant 7 Portes—, with the studio of architect Natalia Manzanas Esteve, and with ARQBCN, mainly on rehabilitation projects and new-build single-family housing.
He also took part, through the NGO Universitat Sense Fronteres, in a volunteering programme in San Ignacio de Velasco (Bolivia), collaborating in the construction of the Facultad Integral Chiquitana of the Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno, and in the urban development plan for Avinguda Velasco together with local municipal technicians. This experience led to the drafting of the “Bases per a la Planificació del Creixement Urbà de San Ignacio de Velasco”, his Final Degree Project supervised by Dr. Zaida Muxí of the UPC’s DUOT.
Throughout his career as director architect at García-Fraile Arquitectura SLP, he has led numerous rehabilitation projects, new-build single-family and multi-family housing projects, and interior renovations, and has collaborated on the preparation of executive projects with studios such as Ensenyat-Tarrida Arquitectes or Gloria Duran. In parallel, he has produced dozens of forensic and expert reports, taking part in various judicial proceedings as an expert architect in building defects and real estate valuation appointed by courts of justice, and collaborating with law firms such as Aguirre y Baeza or Martínez y Caballero.
García-Fraile Arquitectura SLP
